Klinsmann Lake October A Match Confirmed… Tunisia in Seoul on the 13th → Vietnam in Suwon on the 17th

South Korea’s national soccer team, led by coach Jürgen Klinsmann (59), will play two back-to-back A matches in October.

The Korea Football Association (KFA) announced on Wednesday that it has finalized the opponent for the October A match on Oct. 17 as Vietnam. “The October A match will be played against Tunisia on Oct. 13 at the Seoul World Cup Stadium and Vietnam on Oct. 17 at the Suwon World Cup Stadium. Kick-off time is 8 p.m. for both matches.”먹튀검증

Last month, the federation had already announced Tunisia as the opponent for the October A match. The African powerhouse is currently ranked 31st in the FIFA rankings. They won one game and drew one in their group at last year’s World Cup in Qatar, including a victory over France.

South Korea has a 1-1 record against Tunisia. They drew 0-0 in 2002 and lost 0-1 in 2014.

The second opponent, Vietnam, was somewhat predictable. Head coach Klinsmann hinted at the game when he spoke to Korean reporters. South Korea leads the all-time series against Vietnam by a wide margin with 17 wins, five draws, and two losses.

Currently, Klinsmann has yet to earn his first win. Since taking over the reins in March, he has only managed three draws and two losses. The team drew 2-2 with Colombia and lost 1-2 to Uruguay in their first two matches in March. After drawing 0-0 with Uruguay at last year’s World Cup in Qatar, they lost the rematch. They also failed to win against Peru (0-1 loss) and El Salvador (1-1 draw) in June.

On Aug. 8, South Korea drew 0-0 with Wales. South Korea is ranked 28th in the FIFA rankings, while Wales is 35th. However, the South Koreans had to settle for a draw after being out-shot 4 to 11. Klinsmann is the first coach to go five games without a win since the introduction of the full-time managerial system in 1992.

South Korea will next face Saudi Arabia on Nov. 13 at St. James’ Park in Newcastle, England. If Klinsmann’s side fails to win that match, they will have to wait until October’s A-match schedule for their first win.

South Korea will then host the second round of Asian qualifiers for the FIFA Confederations Cup North America 2026 on Nov. 16 and Nov. 21.
