Kwak Bo-seong of ‘BDD’ “Actually, I thought we would go 4-0… ”

KT Rolster’s “BD” Bo-seong Kwak expressed his feelings about defeating Hanwha Life Insurance Esports.

On the 27th, KT won a complete victory over Hanwha Life Insurance 2-0 in the second week of the 2023 LoL Champions Korea (LCK) spring season regular league held at the LCK Arena in Jongno-gu, Seoul. 2 wins and 2 losses (+1), finished the 2nd week schedule in 6th place.

It was a confrontation between two teams who met on a single wooden bridge. Both teams stumbled from the start of the season as they were caught side by side in the Liv Sandbox earlier. They desperately needed a win on the day to ride the momentum. A close match was expected, but when the lid was opened, KT overwhelmed Hanwha Life Insurance. Kwak Bo-seong, who met with Kukmin Ilbo after the game, smiled brightly, saying, “Finally, the same performance as in practice came out in practice.”

  • We won a complete 2-0 victory over Hanwha Life Insurance, who we met at an important street corner.
“In the last Liv Sandbox match, the laning composition did not come out as we expected. Even though I knew that the opponent was a team that liked to fight, I hit back without thinking. It seems that everyone on the team, including me, was insane. I thought I had to win today’s game. I am happy that the same performance in practice is finally coming out in practice.”

-I heard that the team had a heated discussion until 5 am today.
“Recently, the teammates caught a cold or were not in good physical condition, so I couldn’t practice enough. I scrimped a little, but my performance wasn’t good at that time. It was mentally difficult, so I felt the need to have deep discussions with the team members. If I don’t confess at that time, I get a lump in my chest. I said everything I wanted to say to my teammates, and we exchanged opinions about what was the problem within the game.” 토토사이트

-The focus was on the mid-lane matchup with ‘Zecca’ Geon-woo Kim, and he won by decision.
“I saw that ‘Jecca’ preferred the composition of Silas and Akali. In fact, the player handled the champion well. This composition came out a lot in last year’s ‘LoL World Championship (Worlds)’. However, I didn’t go to Worlds last year, so I thought I knew less data than ‘Zekka’. Even if I was confident that I could deal well with Amman, I didn’t have to deal with two champions and face them, so I solved the ban/pick with a different composition.”

-In the 1st set, you played the top game by choosing Twisted Fate (TFE).
“After the ‘Stand of Eternity’ and ‘Archangel’s Staff’ buffs, Ryze is highly evaluated. Maybe that’s why everyone didn’t choose TF. I still think TF is good. Isn’t it a bot meta? With ‘Zekka’’s champion pool in mind in advance, I thought it would be nice to deal with TF.”

-In the 2nd set, I chose the signature champion, Azir.
“Hanwha Life Insurance chose Yone first, so I thought, ‘Should I kill him with Akali?’ Azir is a versatile champion. He has confidence that he can take it out anytime. Today, the situation was good and a good result came out.”

  • Isn’t Azir the highest authority? Why do players these days choose the ‘Conqueror’ rune instead of ‘First Strike’ for Azir?
“I’ve been thinking a lot about this too. Players also use Conqueror when dealing with Akali. I wondered why he chose Conqueror when he couldn’t maintain his stack if Akali fell out after a deal exchange anyway. It’s not like they just use conquerors for no reason… . Rune selection should be situational. I pick the Conqueror rune for long fight champions like Yone, or to focus on not giving up the initiative using the Liandry’s Agony/Broken Queen’s Crown synergy on the side.”

-I picked mid karma earlier and lost all of them. Isn’t Karma a pick that reduces Kwak’s carry ability?
“This is the champion I picked after thoroughly discussing the composition of the bottom and mid lane matches among the team members. I still think I had to win every match I played Karma. Even though Karma is a support champion, her laning is strong. He also has good synergy with Goku. Our play was lacking, but I think Karmaran’s performance is still good.”

-You played all the matches of the 2nd week of the regular league. Is there anything different from what you expected or anticipated before the opening?
“Actually, I expected to win all four matches I’ve played so far. The content and results of the scrims before the opening were good. But T1 was really strong. I knew I would be good at T1, but I didn’t know I would be that good.
Also, I am very nervous this season, probably because I lost so many times last year. Yesterday, while communicating with my teammates, I felt relieved to some extent, but I still feel excessive tension. I will fix it in the future. Thanks to today’s victory, KT will be reborn as a team with better performance. I hope the fans will also look forward to it.”
