Moon Bo-kyung explodes for 7 RBIs in 2 man-rule chances, including a grand slam, to lead LG out of 3-game losing streak

LG Twins’ Moon Bo-kyung, 23, pounded out seven hits in two bases-loaded chances, including her first career grand slam, to save her team from a four-game losing streak.

Moon batted seventh in the lineup against the Hanwha Eagles in Daejeon on Nov. 11 and went 2-for-4 with a grand slam and seven RBIs to lead LG to a 13-7 victory. The seven RBIs were a career-high for Moon. Second-place LG (34-2, 23), which snapped a three-game losing streak, closed the gap to 1.5 games on first-place SSG Landers (35-1, 21), which lost 4-8 at the Changwon NC Dinos and suffered its third straight loss.

Moon had been hitless in 15 at-bats in her last four games prior to this one. His season batting average had dropped to .287. Desperate to bounce back, Moon came out firing from the first at-bat. With two outs in the top of the first inning and a 1-0 lead, he ripped a double to left-center off Hanwha starter Jang Min-jae, bringing home all three runners on base. 먹튀검증

LG scored four runs in the top of the first inning, but starter Casey Kelly didn’t fare well. Kelly gave up five runs on four hits, including one double, and three walks in the bottom of the first. Hanwha was looking for its first sweep of the season. Hanwha mobilized its bullpen in the top of the second inning.

However, LG was more determined to end their four-game losing streak. LG broke Hanwha’s momentum with a big inning in the top of the second. Two batters later, a walk, a hit, and a wild pitch loaded the bases. Park Dong-won hit a two-run double to make it 6-5. The bases were loaded for Moon Bo-kyung. Hanwha then brought in a third pitcher, Han Seung-hyuk, but on a 0B-2S pitch count, Moon swung at Han’s six-pitch fastball (149 kilometers per hour) outside the zone. The ball traveled 110 meters and cleared the left field fence. LG quickly took a 10-5 lead and set the tone early.

In the bottom of the second inning, LG went all out, relieving Kelly and bringing in Yoo Young-chan with runners on second and third. The bullpen gave up two more runs to make it 10-7 heading into the bottom of the fifth, but LG extended its lead to 12-7 in the top of the seventh on a Kim Hyun-soo RBI single to left field and a Park Dong-won sacrifice fly to left field. With his three-hit game, Kim became the eighth player in KBO history to reach 3,300 career hits. LG scored one more run in the top of the eighth on an RBI single to right by Hong Chang-ki.
