Yongsung Joong Yong, Sam Seon Joong Record First Wins Together

Yongsanjung defeated tough opponent Seongnamjung 64-62 in Group B of the South Central Seoul Gyeongin Gangwon 2023 Basketball Weekend League on Tuesday at Gyeongbokgo Gymnasium. Kwak Gun-woo (182 cm, G) poured in 27 points to lead the offense, while Lee Seo-joon (188 cm, F) followed with 17 points, including five three-pointers. Freshman Nam Hyun-woo (181 cm, G) also scored in double figures to lighten the load on his older brothers’ shoulders.

For Seongnam, the trio of Lee Jae-sung (183 cm, G), Park Kyung-min (177 cm, G), and Lee Ye-chan (185 cm, F) split time, but their mistakes with 26.7 seconds left in the game proved costly. Lee recorded a triple-double with 21 points, 18 rebounds, and 12 assists, but it was overshadowed by his team’s loss.

The two teams battled back and forth throughout the game. Yongsanjoong was led in scoring by the duo of Lee Seo-jun and Kwak Gun-woo. Seongnam answered with Lee Jae-sung and Lee Ye-chan. Trailing 26-28 at halftime, Yongsanjoong brought their ace Kwak Gun-woo to the forefront and tied the game at one (45-45).

In a back-and-forth battle throughout the fourth quarter, Yongsanjoong’s surprise defense in the final minutes of the game forced their opponent to commit a turnover to secure the victory 메이저사이트.

In the next game, Samsunjung, the two-time defending champions, showed their dominance in the South Central Region with an 86-71 victory over Myeongjijung, led by brothers Yoon Ji-won (190 cm, F) and Ji-hoon (183 cm, G).
Yoon Ji-hoon poured in a game-high 41 points, while Yoon Ji-won showed off his versatility with 15 points, 13 rebounds, five assists and six steals.
